Many years ago I did my very first dog portrait. It was of a Blue Heeler named Stack (see below left). My style was a bit different back then...more playful and I kind of miss it. So many of my clients ask for a realistic approach, which is fine, but not always as creatively satisfying for me.So anyway, I was very happy that I was asked by a friend of Stack's to create a portrait of Oso in my "old-school" style. Below are the results. I think they will look nice hanging together on the wall. I can't wait to do another dog portrait in this way. I haven't painted our little Hattie yet (can you believe it?). I think I will do her painting this way.

Ethel and Lorraine
Hattie Lorraine had her bio-sis over today and had to share the modeling bench with her. She was NOT happy about it. But, Gracie Ethel looks thrilled! Modeling must be in the genes. See more here.
